Prof. Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam is a senior Pediatric surgeon of the country with experience of more than 30 years in the field. He is the first qualified Pediatric Surgeon in Bangladesh having MS. in Pediatric Surgery degree. Subsequently, he obtained Fellowship from ‘International College of Surgeons’ (FICS), USA in Pediatric Surgery and also FRCS from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow ,UK.
Graduating from Chittagong Medical College, Prof. Islam worked in Dhaka Shishu hospital at the beginning of his career. He was the Head of Pediatric Surgery in Dhaka Medical College and Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College from 1995 to 2007. He attained advanced training on Pediatric Urology from prestigious ‘The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children’ in London, UK and also on Pediatric Laparoscopic Surgery from Bangalore, India.
